This Fourth of July, I’d like to thank the anarchists, radical labor unions, draft dodgers, traitors, tax evaders, protestors, and revolutionaries who lived and died defiantly, who were shamed and written out of history.

I would also like to thank the people who less directly challenge authority in their everyday lives, who live as they wish in spite of oppressive social expectations. You don’t have to be a revolutionary warrior to be a freedom fighter.
