The Obama administration, and the Bush administration before it, have made physically invasive, unwarranted searches a routine part of daily travel. They have dissembled and lied about what they are doing, promoted the most ridiculous patriotically-correct claims about what they were doing, how they were doing, how much we should trust the people doing it, and what it was needed for.
Of course it is ludicrous, and obscene, that electronic strip-searches, or a physically invasive pat-down search, have been made a routine requirement for getting onto an airplane. The TSA, and everything that it does, are extreme and routinized invasions of civil liberty, and they ought to be immediately and completely abolished.
