is printing / folding / stapling a case of Market Anarchy and Anarchist Classics booklets this morning.
Dear Pandora: I love yr service but is there any way I can convince you that, just because my Working channel includes Diana Krall and Ella Fitzgerald, still doesn’t mean I ever want to listen to instrumental Smooth Jazz? Please? For the love of God?
So OK you know it would have been kind of cool if I hadn’t had to get $500 of repairs on the car’s radiator just two days before the transmission decided to go all “I AM NOT A TRANSMISSION I AM DYNAMITE!”
is preparing to ship out the belated copies of the January 2012 Market Anarchy Zine Series and Anarchist Classics Series booklets. Coming soon to subscribers: a slightly revised edition of “State Capitalism & The Many Monopolies,” and a previously promised new booklet edition of de Cleyre’s “Anarchism & American Traditions.”
is back in Alabama. But my car won’t move anymore. Not for love or money.
is in Austin, Tex.
La Rana: "I would point out that this moral proposition is only possible in anarchy."
Yes, that is correct. This is as I see it the strongest moral argument in favor of anarchy.
Lisa Simeone: "Billions are spent on smoking cessation, alcohol addiction treatment, other drug addiction treatment, obesity. Why should my tax dollars go towards that?"
They shouldn't. Anarchists don't believe in taxes. (Of course, if you want to donate money towards any of those causes you should be free to.)
BlizzardOfOz: "That means I wouldn't have to pay tax dollars to a military that kills Muslims for private profit, right?"
Correct. Which is of course exactly the outcome that I'd hope for: no more money for war and slaughter abroad or at home. This is as I see it one of the strongest pragmatic arguments in favor of anarchy.
Crispin is an anarchist and has said so on numerous occasions. I think that all of these are obviously not reductios of his position; rather they are consequences that he's almost certainly quite happy to embrace. Certainly I am.
